Terms and conditions for Bijou Rocks (Trading name)

I accept Paypal for all purchases. Your items will only be shipped after clearance of funds. All currency conversion is handled by Paypal.
Shipping
Within the U.K. shipping costs are £7.50 for orders under £100 while orders of £100 or over are free.
For International orders, shipping costs are £15.00 for orders under £200 while orders of £200 or over are free.
Please be aware that all my items are stored off-site and that I travel frequently and have a ‘day job’. Lapidary is my hobby. Therefore, I will endeavour to dispatch orders as soon as practical, and within 5 working days of receipt of payment. Normally this will be on a Friday. I will let you know when it will be dispatched as soon as the order is received. If you need an item quickly, please message me before purchase and I will let you know the next date that I can post it.
Within the UK, orders will be sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery by 1PM so that they are insured and can be tracked. A tracking number will be included in the email notifying you that your order has been posted.
For other parts of the world, International Tracked or International Tracked & Signed will be used, depending on the destination. The buyer is responsible for any Import Tax or customs Fees imposed.
'Special Delivery' and 'International Tracked & Signed' shipping methods offer compensation for loss and will need to be signed for on receipt.
Returns and exchanges
If you wish to return an order I will happily refund you the cost of the goods and postage costs if you are with the U.K. International shipping costs are non-refundable. You as the buyer will be responsible for the return shipping/postage costs. I highly recommend you send it insured and tracked as I will not refund items that are lost, stolen or damaged in transit. This is the customers responsibility. I will refund as soon as I can and in any case within within 10 days of I receive the goods provided you:
Contact me within 14 days of delivery to inform me you wish to return the item.

The item is returned in its original condition with its packaging, and has not been altered or damaged in any way.
Returns received outside of the above timelines will be accepted for refund at the discretion of Bijou Rocks. Refunds will be issued within 10 days of receiving your returned item.
International Returns
In addition, when returning an item from overseas, please take care to correctly mark the goods as a 'Returned Item' on any customs declaration form. This will ensure that no additional customs fees are incurred. If the package item is incorrectly marked and a customs fee is payable, this will be passed onto the customer. It will also delay the returns a refund process.
If your item is found to be damaged when you receive it, please notify me within three days of receipt. The following items can't be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective:
Custom orders
Intimate items such as earrings (for health/hygiene reasons)
ORDER CANCELLATION
If you wish to cancel an order before it has been posted, please contact me immediately and if it has not been dispatched, it shall be done. Orders for customised items cannot be cancelled if the work has begun; e.g. ring sizing, a specific gemstone cut to request.
Late and Lost Deliveries
Bijou Rocks cannot be held responsible for goods that are lost or delayed in transit, but we will work with you resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
If you parcel is lost or delayed please contact me so that I can track the parcel.
Lost items cannot be replaced or refunded until 20 working days after the date of posting (30 days for international items) which is when when Royal Mail classes the item as lost.
When items are posted internationally, the parcel is often handled by more than one postal service. The actual delivery of the item is the responsibility of the postal service in the country the items are going to. Delays can often be caused by customs checks, which can sometimes take up to 1-2 weeks.
Items not received but tracked as being delivered - Please note that I do not refund or replace items that are tracked as being delivered even if you have not received them. Please ensure pieces are delivered to your own house or an address where you are aware of who the the person responsible for signing for parcels is. I cannot accept responsibility for another person signing for your parcel.
Prices
Prices are as shown on the product pages on the date the customer places the order. VAT is not applicable. Errors and omissions are excepted. Prices are in £GBP British Pounds Sterling. If you are purchasing from outside the UK, currency exchange rates and credit card charges may make a difference to the amount billed on your credit card statement.

I do not store customers financial information on this site. All transactions are handled by a secure online independent payment service provider (Paypal or otherwise).
